An upstream approach to cement decarbonization
CURA Joins HATCH Venture Builder
Calgary, Canada – CURA is proud to announce its acceptance into the HATCH Venture Builder at the University of British Columbia, a highly selective, university-backed program designed to build successful ventures through hands-on, tailored support.
HATCH supports students, staff, faculty, and recent alumni by pairing promising ventures with world-class researchers, specialized facilities, and experienced mentors. The program provides access to advanced prototyping equipment, dedicated office space, an Entrepreneur-in-Residence, and curated opportunities to expand industry and investor networks.
The impact of HATCH to date is significant:
- 96 ventures supported
- $41M+ in revenue generated
- $226M+ in funding secured
- 844+ full-time jobs created
For CURA, acceptance into HATCH is a meaningful validation of our technology and business model. The University’s backing signals strong institutional confidence in both the scientific foundation of our innovation and our potential to scale it into real-world impact.
Beyond operational support, HATCH places strong emphasis on building enduring companies. Ventures develop best practices in leadership, governance, culture, and ethics. The program prioritizes clarity in team roles and responsibilities, strengthens strategic storytelling, and fosters a collaborative entrepreneurial community. No HATCH venture builds alone.
We are honored to be part of the HATCH ecosystem and look forward to leveraging this partnership to accelerate the commercialization of CURA’s technology and deliver meaningful impact for industry and climate.
